And it rained!

It was a bit of a blah day really, with Topsy' molars in full swing.
This afternoon before it got cool, we went over to the oval to kick the football around. It had been a lot of fun doing it out in the back yard, so I suggested the move.
Bad idea! Somehow, we all lost our jollies on the short journey over.
There is extensive work being done slowly on the oval so every gate was wide open and unclosable. Topsy forgot his sore gums in the sheer joy of trying to reach the main road and all the speeding cars before we realized he was gone. That kid can RUN!!!!
Roly and I had done lots of practise in the backyard and our kicks were going really well. So he was not at all happy to have Spindles, resplendant in Steve Erkel mode, goofing off and kicking silly, hopeless balls to him.

Meanwhile Diva had fallen off her scooter about half an hour earlier, and did not want to come. She did not want to stay behind either, though, so she come she did.
She lightened the mood by just sitting and watching us with a 'look at poor old me/ see how much I am suffering' expression.

When that didn't seem to generate any interest or sympathy, she hobbled over, blinking hard to force tears.

'Why are you crying,?' I asked wearily, as Roly flew past to tackle his brother in fury over another silly antic.

'Because I love being the oval, but I am too sick to play here!', she wailed. I must add that 5 minutes later when I called the whole three-ringed circus to a halt, she galloped along beside me, jumping in every puddle!

Tonight I just want everyone in bed so I can lie down and read my book in peace!!!

Talk soon!
